2nd Vice Chair Candidates

Mary Kanter and I are running as co-candidates for the 2nd Vice Chair position on the Board. This position is primarily responsible for fund-raising.
We ask for your support.
Our bios:
Mary Kanter has been active as a PCO in the 5th LD since 1994, recently serving on the 2008 Candidate Recruitment Committee and the Endorsement Committee for Judicial Candidates. She is a founding member of the Democrats of Inglewood Neighborhood and has assisted in organizing the 5th District discussion group. She was a member of the Eastside Women’s Group, which was organized to raise money for 2008 Democratic Candidates. As a social worker by profession, Mary has deep roots in the Democratic Party and an ability to listen to and bring people together.
Allison Rae Hannigan is a life-long Democrat who has an active voice in the 5th LD using online tools to communicate with the broader community of Obama supporters. As a community organizer, she hosted a number of House Meetings that showcased the slate of legislative candidates for the 5th District Democrats. Elected as a delegate to the 2008 Washington State Democratic Party Convention, and as a finalist for National Delegate, she is an appointed PCO, as well as a member of the Democrats of Inglewood Neighborhood. Allison is a Program Manager with a policy management background in telecoms and aerospace. She lived in England and France for over 13 years of her professional career.
We are very committed to doing our part in electing Democratic candidates to represent the 5th District in the next election cycle and outreaching to potential new members. Some of our ideas include the following:
1. raising money to field our slate of candidates during the 2010 election
2. expanding the Discussion Group to invite 'big ticket' speakers and charge a fee
3. forming an Events Committee to plan and budget for one or more major fund-raisers
4. soliciting ideas from PCOs and other members to devise a fund-raising strategy
